You travel on a familiar road, a one way freeway, which you haven't travelled on for years, remembering the reason you took that road in the past. Thinking back on the days when things are not as simple as how you see it now, seeing how the present is shaped by past actions.
You ask yourself.. What if..
And you contradict yourself by saying it's inevitable.
As you travel nearer to your usual exit, which was the end of the road, you saw that the road did not end there; a new path was paved.
A part of you wants to venture through; the other part fears it will lead you the wrong way. So you read the signs, but it does not tell you much; you are not definite where this road bring you. But you ventured anyway.
There are no other cars around you, the road is long and wide, the sky is pitch black with amber street lamps shining the way. You drove forward at your desired speed, unsure about what's ahead, even though you can see far and wide.
You reached a part of the road thinking.. This is so familiar..
You got it, you knew how to go on from here. Finally you're sure about your route, and so you made it back safely.
On the way you recall.. What if I took the old route instead? Will it be further or nearer?
You travelled on a familiar route, venturing onto an unfamiliar path which later became familiar again. Thinking back, it seems like the new route is a quicker way home afterall.
