I was reading an article from mens health, this is very interesting, I see some of my traits and I see that the person writing this is also covering up for women!
Men just don’t get it. You don’t understand why we get angry, and we don’t get why you still don’t get it. To help narrow the massive gap separating Mars and Venus, here’s a non-exhaustive list. Please use it once you’ve finally figured out that damn toilet seat rule (remember: “Down is good”).
1. You're still mummy's boy
We understand that it’s not easy being stuck between two women. We suspect you give in to your mother just to get her off your back (because that’s what you sometimes do to us). But it makes us feel the lesser lady here – because, if you can say “yes” to her so often, why can’t you do the same for us?
2. You don't like to talk
So you’re not wired to express yourself (unless someone dents your car). You’re not one for baring your heart (unless you’re drunk). Yet, we see you pontificate all the time about politics, so you’re definitely not lacking in the eloquence department. Why, then, is it so hard for you to tell us about your problems? We’re great listeners. And we love to give hugs and kisses to vulnerable men.
3. You don't listen
We don’t always want solutions when we complain. It’s not that we don’t welcome advice. But, sometimes, all we want is for you to just hold us in your arms and say: “I want to hear all about your evil boss.”
4. You belittle our problems
Assuming you’ve listened to us gripe, the next boo-boo you often commit is to make light of the issue at hand. The last thing we want to hear after we’ve bared our souls is: “Don’t think so much. Go sleep.” Even if a nookie is what you’d like to have (and you think you deserve it after an hour-long monologue), you won’t be getting any with that line. The right thing to do is help us forget the stress (think massage, chamomile tea, scented candles).
5. You laugh at our faux pas.. with your friends
Say we trip over our three-inch heels in a most unglamorous manner. We may even laugh it off. It still doesn’t mean you can share the incident with your friends over beer. You might think it hilarious (and we might, too), but it’s not so funny when all your friends are in on the joke.
6. You don't ask for help
Whether it’s asking for directions or for assistance to revive the lifeless laptop, you just refuse to seek help. Trust us: Just circling the neighbourhood for the 11th time will not help you find the flat block. Nor will pressing the reboot button in intervals of 30 minutes resurrect the notebook. It will, however, show how silly you really are. The smarter move would be to just speak up.
7. You don't help, period
We know we might have sent mixed signals with all that jazz about women’s lib. But the next time you see a lady struggling with a heavy door, take it as a chance to let loose your muscle man instincts and display some modicum of chivalry. Yes, we can open our own doors and change our own light bulbs. But if we’re obviously wrestling with an Allen key and the bolt just won’t budge, come to our rescue already.
8. You treat us like damsels in distress
It is one thing to ignore an evident need for aid, and another to treat us like hapless damsels. Or imbeciles. We don’t need you to pay for everything (if she does, dump her already because even we are ashamed of her), we don’t expect you play chauffeur and ferry us around everywhere (if you do, we’re ashamed of you) and we surely don’t want you to carry our handbags for us (if you do, you should be ashamed of yourself). There is a huge difference between being considerate and sensitive, and playing slave.
9. You're fickle.. When it comes to us
Many men display a great propensity for sweet nothings and out-of-this-world promises during the chase. Then, within a month of making the kill, comes the realisation that we’re not “The One”. We know lovey-dovey drivel is part of courtship, but if you say you’ll love us for eternity, then change your mind mere weeks later, don’t blame us for being livid. Fickleness is our prerogative, not yours.
10. You make us nag
We’re such nags because you don’t respond when we say something. So we say it again, and again, and again. We don’t enjoy repeating ourselves. So, if you would just remember all the 10 points above and take immediate steps, we’ll never have to nag again. Phew.
